Many people associate fixed-income investing with safety. But not everyone realizes how much rising interest rates can impact a fixed-income portfolio. Market analysts are anticipating higher interest rates in the coming years, and we believe that now is an optimal time to begin preparing for them.

I’ll be giving a free seminar to discuss strategies for addressing interest-rate risk. I’ll also discuss  related topics, including the economic forces that contribute to higher rates, the relationship between a bond’s “duration” and its interest-rate sensitivity and the importance of asset allocation.
